About A Bride has been trading for almost 8 years. Originally named Stephanie's with Barbara as manager. In 2005 after acquiring the whole of the business, the name was changed.

Having a background in the Wedding industry as a Florist, Barbara has always enjoyed the thrill of wedding planning. Through years of experience helping brides find their special dresses, she always knew there was a real need for up to date modern designs for the fuller figure

It's not just a case of offering styles available from size 8 in a larger size as most designers do. It often doesn't work, more fabric doesn't make a great larger size Wedding dress, it's all in the cut, fabric, boning. That's why we have spent a long time sourcing designers who care about the larger figure.With a properly fitting dress all brides can look stunning whatever their size, and that has always been our goal.

After several years research, listening to brides, sourcing beautiful designs the 'Large & Lovely' collection was launched.We can now fulfil every bride's dream, and you will be amazed at the selection you have to choose from and the beautiful designs we have on offer.

Each bride has exclusive use of the private changing and viewing area. No more being squashed into a dress several sizes to small and trying to guess how it will look. Most of our samples are in size 24-28 with lots of styles available up to size 54.Appointments can last ages as our brides want to try everything on - and they do!
